Week in Review: First Post, up to May 4th
Well, I figured once I got this blog rolling a week in review would be a pretty cool way to tie up everything for anyone that missed a post or two, and although I haven’t gotten a ton of posts up, its probably not a bad idea to get into the habit of doing it.
Even though the site hasn’t officially even launched yet, I feel like I haven’t posted nearly as much as I wanted to. Most recently I blame it on being sick, and I’m hopefully finally recovering from that now. Other than that, Mr P spent some time getting the house back in order a bit, cleaning up the inside and finally working on the outside. Got the grass all cut and trimmed, and finally got around to getting that blasted pool out of my backyard, which was left for me to cleanup by a certain ex-….. I was gonna use a derogatory word there, but I’ll just let your imagination fill in that blank. Also, the neighborhood I live in fixed the backyard of a neighbor and consequently tore up my backyard, which they did re-sod, but because of what they did my back yard is now a lake anytime it rains and for weeks after, so I’m currently trying to get them to come out and fix it so I can use my backyard again. Anyway, enough of the personal stuff, lets get to the post recaps…
April 26: Welcome Bloggers: The site had to have a general welcome post didn’t it? Well, I thought it should, even though nobody ever read it, or will ever read it, being as the site isn’t really done yet, or being advertised, I still felt it was a necessary post.
April 27: Grand Theft Auto IV is raking in rave Reviews (Niko Bellic Character Intro Trailer Inside)
Grand Theft Auto IV took in reviews better than probably any game in History when you consider most gaming websites have stiffened up their review scores over the past few years. Now after having played the game, while I agree its a great game, I’m not sure I understand why this game was getting perfect 10’s everywhere. The game is definitely a solid 9+ but the game still has its flaws and drawbacks. The graphics alone should keep this game from a perfect score, and yes I am keeping in mind the sheer size of the city and ability to go anywhere with no load, but still, the graphics just aren’t nearly as good as other top tier quality games. Again, not to take anything away, its a great game, but don’t be fooled by perfect scores.
April 28: 7 Minute Gametrailers.com Review This was probably one of the longer video reviews I saw out there the night before launch and if you haven’t picked up the game yet and are still considering buying this sucker, it can’t hurt to take a few minutes out to watch it.
May 1: And they wonder what is wrong with the economy? My first rant, and a deserving subject. Gas prices are out of control and are squeezing the throats of the lower class, and nobody seems to care. They wonder what’s wrong with the economy? Well in my book, and I did a little “play” math, just to see how much it affects the economy, and keep in mind I’m talking out of my ass, but its pretty interesting to look at the numbers.
May 4: Ironman Blasts away with 100 Million and becomes the first mega-blockbuster of 2008. Already its relieving accolades from the media and comicbook fans alike. Due to being sick this weekend, I didn’t get a chance to go see it, but it looks like all of you did, so you probably don’t even need my opinion there.
Thats it thus far, and hopefully this illness completely leaves me early in the week, so I can get to posting a bit more often. Until then, I’m probably going to go take some Nyquil and pass out.
