WALL-E: Pixars new Gem Opens at Number 1

Well, Pixar is at it again, with the release of another summer blockbuster, this time in the form of WALL-E. WALL-E’s early projections are running at around 62 Million for its opening weekend, a solid 15 million more than the excellent Ratatouille, Pixars last Major Motion Picture. It also faced still competition from none other than Angelina Jolie and the movie wanted, which took in just over 50 Million.

You can check out all kinds of cool things in the widget to your left, but I’ll give you a brief rundown of the plot here. WALL-E is a machine amongst many other machines that humans produced to help clean up the planet as the human race left for somewhere else until the robots could get the planet back in order. Over time all the other robots have died out, and just Wall-E remains. A new robot comes to earth to explore and discovers Wall-E and they develop a bond with each other and the movie is off and running.

To me, this looks like another phenominal Pixar film. They seem to just get better and better, and it really doesn’t even matter wheather or not your a child to enjoy them. Pixar is amazing at keeping the kids entertained and at the same time putting a lot of funny content in there for adults too. So for me, who loves kid humor, and adult humor, and gorgeous computer graphics, its a win, win….WIN!

  1. The new theme looks great!

  2. Thanks BigPappa! I appreciate it!

  3. I saw Wall-E over the weekend with my niece, and I will say it was a real treat. It’s incredible how some of the scenes looked so realistic. The animators deserve a lot of credit. And I found the story not as overtly preachy as Happy Feet was, which is a nice change.

  4. Pixar really has a way of making movies, they can pretty much craft any story anyway they want to without ever stepping over themselves.

I’m a huge pixar fan, I’m glad to hear its good, can’t wait to see it!

Thanks for stopping by the site by the way! Hope to see you continue posting comments!

  5. Any time.

As far as Pixar goes, I knew someone back in their early days that use to work for them in their modeling department. Listening to him talk about working for the company reminds me of the way people talk about working for Google today; laid back, casual, free thinking, etc. Definitely the type of work environment I’d want to be in.

  6. Yeah, I watched a show on one of the movie channels about them, I think called A Pixar Story, or something similar. Anyway, you can definitely tell those people enjoy the hell out of their work and that pixar encourages them to have fun and enjoy making these films. You gotta admire that.
