The Incredible Hulk Smashes into Theaters at #1

The Incredible Hulk smashed into theaters this weekend and pulled in a solid 55 Million. The film is considered a success, taking in approximately 5 million higher than expectations. The Hulk is being considered a success despite being lower than its predecessors opening weekend by roughly 8 million. However, the studio isn’t expecting the horrendous dropoff suffered by the original version.

M. Night’s “The Happening” opened up in 3rd place with 30 million, just 3 million shy of Kicking Kung Fu Panda from the #2 slot. Sandlers “Don’t mess with the Zohan” despite a 57% dropped off, came in at #4 this week, taking in 16 Million. Indiana Jones continues to hold in there strong, rounding out the top 5.

It’ll be interesting to see if this “Hulk” experiences similar dropoffs in its second week.

  1. Yes please give us an update on if the Hulk drops off. I was not to interested in the 2003 version nor this one.

  2. So because you have no active interest, you want an update why? Because you want to see it tank? Just curious.

  3. I do want to see if it will tank or not but I do not want to look it up. I do how ever would like to see The Happening, but unfortunately, for me, My daughter and I helped out Kung Fu go to 2nd place.

  4. I saw it this weekend. I thought it was awesome! But then again I am a comic book fan from the 70’s and 80’s. I thought this was way better than Lee first attempt at a CG Hulk. The tie-in with Iron man was great. Gotta see Iron Man first and wait till after the credits to see the secret teaser.

  5. Its nice to hear a positive review. I don’t know that I’ll see it in a theater, but will definitely down the road.

  6. I will say, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Far exceeded my expectations, which were pretty low. I enjoyed it!
