When it comes to beer, theres nothing more American than Budweiser right? Anheuser Busch is the nations top beer brewer, and the third biggest volume mover worldwide. The company said it received and unsolicited offer from the worlds number two beer brewer, Belgian based InBev. InBev’s unsolicited offer is reportedly 46.3 billion dollars. Although the company has been in family hands for the last 148 years, the family isn’t in position to block a takeover, holding just 4% of the voting stock. The company didn’t make any statements aside from announcing the takeover and also that the board would  “evaluate the proposal carefully and in the context of all relevant factors, including Anheuser-Busch’s long-term strategic plan” and also that they would make a decision “in due course.”

In a time when costs of everything are going up, wages not improving, the economy and the American Dollar suffering, outsourcing running rampant by major companies, we certainly don’t need the our pride and joy of the beer industry hailing from anywhere other than right here in the United States.

Now I’m not a big fan of Bud, although may drink it occasionally, but it just doesn’t seem right for Anheuser Busch to be owned by a company based in Belgium. If it happens, I’ll never drink another drop of any Anheuser Busch product every again. Maybe I’m an idiot and a moron for thinking this way, but hey, I told you guys right or wrong, smart or stupid, I’m going to say whats rattling through my pitiful little excuse for a brain.
