Ten Things: Ten Things to Really Create “Change”

Ten Things: Fourth of July Edition. With today being the day we celebrate our “Independance,” I figured what better thing to post about than things that would make this country better. So with Ten Things this week, I’ll be posting ten ideas that could really help this country change for the better. Maybe I’m an idiot and don’t know what the hell I’m talking about, and thats probably the case, but what the hell, its an election year, and everybody has an opinion. So maybe this post at the very least could generate some conversation. So, all that said, lets get on to TEN THINGS. As always, these aren’t numbered by importance, but simply because I’m too stupid to get to 10 without them.

#1 Eliminate the Federal Reserve. As you probably know, the Federal Reserve is the private entity that prints money for the United States. What you may not know is that all of the printed money is loaned to the country at interest. The Federal Reserve is in the business of making themselves money, and has created a system of credit, debt, and inflation, which benefits above all, themselves. This country should eliminate them, and hadle the money printing and circulation ourselves, and not be at the constant mercy of the fed and all the money we owe them, for basically nothing.

#2 Return the Gold Standard. With the Federal Reserve out of the way, a new form of money would have to be set into place, and what better time than the elimination of the fed, to bring back the gold standard. The gold standard basically limited the amount of money in circulation to to the amount of Gold our counrty has, our national wealth. With the Gold Standard, your printed money is backed by Gold, as opposed to nothing at all. Money has value when its backed by gold, currently, its backed by nothing, making it essentially worthless and at the mercy of the world markets and the federal reserve itself.

#3 Eliminate Personal Income Tax. Now I’m not even going to get into how there is no law stating that you have to pay taxes, or that it wasn’t ratified by enough states to take effect. I’m simply going to say here that the money a person makes for labor and services to a company should not be taxed. We’re taxed on everything else, why the hell should you have to fork over a quarter of what you make when you are already paying tons of other taxes. The government has no right to this money, and shouldn’t get it. In my opinion this is the governments way of stealing from its own people.

#4 Eliminate the Party system. Too often people in this country blindly attach themselves to political parties, and the political party system has degraded itself to basically a gang, the cryps and bloods of the polital world so to speak, hell their colors are even red and blue. Anyway, what the hell difference should it make what “Party” you are in? The issues is what matters, and your policies and thoughts on how to run whatever office your running for should determine whether people vote for you, not whether your a blood or cryp.

#5 Eliminate the Electoral College. The electoral college is about the stupidest thing on the planet in terms of voting. Yes each states electoral votes are based upon population, but its far from being perfect. They have basically overcomplicated a very simple thing. In the presidential election, your vote won’t even count if your vote is on the losing candidates side in your state, don’t you think thats just a bit ridiculous? Shouldn’t your vote count in the overall total for the whole country? Yes, it should, we’re talking about the “Popular Vote” here, the popular vote should determine the president, not the electoral college. Oh and while we’re on the subject, get rid of computer voting because of the unbelievable risk of corruption. Use old fashioned ballots that can be counted and recounted and investigated.

#6 Stop Policing the world. This country was founded with a policy of non-involvement for foreign affairs, and I think we should go back to that, hell, that’s part of the reason why we are so hated, because we’re in seemingly every country on the planet. You can reduce costs of the military, and bring all our troops home, to protect the homeland. The elimination of our presence would eliminate a lot of the hate the rest of the world harbors for us, and at the same time earn some respect to conduct affairs throughout the world in a more civil manner.

#7 Build the Great Wall of America. I understand the US is a melting pot, but damn it if you want to come to the US, do it the right way. Stop illegal immigration by building impenetrable walls on our borders, and oh yeah, you’ll know have troops available to police it since they aren’t spread all over the freakin’ world. This would also help the government in the fight against terrorism because you’d know who’s coming into your country, because the only way they could get in, is the right way.

#8 Stand up for the Constituion. The constitution is the single greatest document this country has, and its seemingly been all but forgotten. We need to go back, reread it, study it, and abolish any and all laws and loopholes we have created to get around it. These are our civil liberties, this is what the country was based on, this is what needs to be at the forefront.

#9 Decrease Government Size. This will do wonders, in just spending alone, but lets face the government is too big for its britches. Its involved in too many things it should not even be involved in, and in essence gives itself too much power, that should be in the hands of the people. Its supposed to be a government for the people by the people, and anymore its a separate entity doing what it wants to serve itself.

#10 We the people. We need to start thinking for ourselves and stop believing everything the media tells us, especially when it comes our country and politics. Everyone has an agenda, and the generally public has become so laced with apathy, that we longer think for ourselves, or stand up for ourselves. I’m as guilty as anyone else, but at least I’m thinking for myself now, and right or wrong, thats something.
