Land Shark Lager: Margaritaville’s New Brew
I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve never really been much of a Beer drinker. Although the past few years, I’ve been drinking beer for pleasure, a little more regularly. Basically I’ll drink beer for enjoyment on a Friday or Saturday night at home probably 1-2 times a month. So yeah, I’m not a huge drinker, and never was a big fan of beer at all, and kind of had to warm up to it. Generally my favorite beer before discovering Land Shark was probably Corona with lime. There’s also a new Bud Light Lime out there that people are raving about, but I decided to try the Land Shark before the Bud Light Lime, and after trying it, I have yet to find a reason to buy the Bud Light Lime over the Land Shark, and thats even with the $1 difference in price for a six pack. But your probably wondering what it tastes like, where it comes from, and what its all about. Keep reading for more information.
Land Shark Beer is brewed to be enjoyed by adults. © 2008 Margaritaville™ Brewing Co., Land Shark™ Lager, Jacksonville, FL. Did you catch the Margaritaville™ Brewing Co. part of that? Yes, the beer is made from a company owned by Jimmy Buffet. The funny thing is, they are NOT promoting this, and they are not really promoting the beer at all. In fact they are kind of playing up the “Shark” angle with the beer by only allowing a certain number of stores per area to carry the beer, creating “Shark Sightings.” Pretty interesting if you ask me. Bold, ballsy, and shows confidence that once people try it the word will spread, and it will happen without millions of dollars of ad campaigns.
So how good is Jimmy Buffets beer? To put it simply, its damn good. The best way for me to describe Land shark is that its kind of like a Corona (but better), with a hint of lime. It goes down extremely smooth, it has a fresh, cool, crisp taste, and leaves you with no aftertaste. You’ll find yourself drinking one after the other and another and before you know it, they’ll all be gone. I urge any beer drinker to give it a shot. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

That sounds pretty damn good! I actually tried a new brew the other night by Breckenridge brewery (Colorado Micro) called Agave Wheat. They use agave nectar in the brewing process and it tastes awesome.

There’s a link for distributors, so you should be able to get it in OK. I didn’t see anything for Canada though.

I’ll definitely have to check that out Bryan, thanks for the suggestion, I’ve never been much of a beer drinker, but starting to warm up to it. Land Shark helped out in that department too.
Okay, I tried this out last night and I gotta tell you I don’t see what the hype is about. Maybe I got a bad batch, but I didn’t taste any lime and it wasn’t that good.
