Food Network HD: My new TV Addiction
Recently, my local cable provider added Food Network HD to their HD lineup, and for some reason, I started watching it. I’ve since become almost addicted to it, watching it every single day. Mabye its because I’m watching what I eat and can’t take in a whole lot of calories anymore while trying to lose weight, or maybe its just my love for food, but whatever it is, I just can’t stop watching.
I’m trying to remember, and I think maybe I started checking out Food Network was because I liked Hells Kitchen, and Top Chef so much. I guess it goes back to my life long love affair with food. Hell you don’t push 400 pounds without loving food, and thats a lot easier to say now that I’m heading towards leaving the 300’s altogether. Anyway, I love Italian food (Naturally), and so I searched through their programming until I found something that said Italian. That show was…
Everyday Italian. The show is hosted by Giada De Laurentiis, and I gotta tell you, I think I found the perfect woman! I’m a sucker for Italian food, and she is one hell of a cook, and does a good job explaining everything very simply and step by step. She makes you think, “Hey I could make that,” which is the whole idea of these shows. Aside from that, she’s just smoking Hot. Perfect Smile, Gorgeous Eyes, and just a hot little body to go along with it. So maybe that keeps me coming back to watch. The next show I discovered that I really liked was…
Throwdown with Bobby Flay! Iron Chef Bobby Flay travels the country challenges top chefs at their own game. He arrives at his local, challenges them to a throwdown, and tries to one up their perfect food recipes. What I really love about the show is you get to see two different approaches to making the same thing, by a world renown Chef, and also the talented creator of the dish, or perfecter. In the end the crowd and a few judges decide the winner of the throwdown, and no matter who wins, its always entertaining and fun. Because I liked this show so much, I figured I’d check out…
Iron Chef America. For the obvious reason that I like Bobby Flay, I figured I’d check out Iron Chef America. Iron Chef America pits together a skilled chef from somewhere around the country against one of the five Iron Chefs, one of which is Bobby Flay. Each show, the competitors are given a secret ingredient, and are challenged to come up with a number of different dishes using that ingredient. The get judged on presentation, taste, and use of the ingredient. Its really cool to see the contrasts of how the chefs use the ingredient vs how the Iron Chef uses the ingredient. So after liking all these shows, I figured, what the hell, I’ll try watching…
Emeril Live, and The Essence of Emeril. This is probably my least favorate show I’ve been watching a lot of, but both Emeril Live and Essence are good shows. I just find him a little annoying sometimes…”oh yeah babe.” Ya, if you’ve seen it, you know what I’m talking about. Other than that, he makes good food too, and you can pick up a lot of good cooking tips.
I’m hooked, hell, when I get some spare cash, I’ll probably be spending it on kitchenware so I can start cooking some good homemade gourmet style meals. Stupid Gas prices, killing me! Anyway, if you love food like I do, you really need to check out Food Network HD!

I think your the last person to be hooked on the food network…
I always was the person to show up to the party 30 minutes after everyone left. Oh well, I brought all this beer with me, I guess I’ll drink it myself!
