Well, if you’ve been reading my blog since the beginning, you probably remember me doing this once before. I quit for a week earlier this year, but just wasn’t ready yet. In all honesty I’m probably still not ready, as I was more of an enjoyment smoker than a “nicotine” addicted smoker. But, at some point, you have to weigh the risks, and in the long run, its definitely not worth it. I guess the correct term is probably casual smoker. I generally was smoking a half a pack a day, but that was mostly at work, and rarely at home or on the weekends, so in reality it was probably a pack every 3 days or so. July 15, that was the date I had in my head much of the year as my “Deadline” to quit, so yesterday morning, I had my last smoke. Major League Baseball is now officially on hiatus for a few days while the All Star game and festivities commence. Everyones favorate part of those festivities is generally the Home Run Derby, and it will take place Monday Night at 8pm ET on ESPN and ESPN HD. The only negative I can find about this years is that it won’t have the leagues leading HR Slugger, Ryan Howard, or defending Champ Vlad Guerrero. Big Brother kicks off Season 10 Tonight on CBS. Show starts at 8pm ET and runs the usual hour until 9pm ET. That guy to your left is actually on the show, the reason I put up his pic is because the house is usually filled with a bunch of hot young early 20 somethings and this time the token “old guy” is really old, so naturally I’m rooting for him, because the old people on the show and the contrast to the young people always makes for entertainment.

So be sure to check it out tonight because you’ll get the full introduction to the new cast, and won’t have to play the perverbial “Catch up” as I’ve done numerous times before with this serious, and with 3 shows a week its not easy. The nickname “Barons” seems to be picking up a lot of steam lately. At first, I didn’t like the sound of it, but when I really thought about what they were talking about it started to grow on me, and rather quickly. The name “Barons” refers to “Oil Barons” pulling from the history of Oklahoma City itself which was basically built from Oil money. Thinking of it this  way definitely makes sense to me, and the more I think about it, the more I like it. The name is simple, sounds cool, and some of the mockups floating around even look cool.

KMSooners28 over at OUInsider.com’s forum has some pretty slick mock ups.  (See Inside for more mock ups) Also, I think I saw on the boards somewhere that this guy works for the  Daily Oklahoman, which would explain why his images have been seen in the paper.
